GENERAL HUNT INFORMATION
Bear Basin Outfitter's wilderness camp is located in the heart
of the famous Hoback Canyon basin in Western Wyoming, near Jackson
Hole. This area (Region H) consistently produces trophy quality
mule deer bucks and Rocky Mountain bull elk, as well as mature
Shiras bull moose.
Our camp is located at approximately 8500 feet
and is accessed by horseback, approximately one hour's horse
ride from the base camp.
You will marvel at the spectacular views and fall
colors during the ride into camp and breathe some of the freshest
air in the Rocky Mountains.
Once you arrive in camp you will be greeted by
our friendly camp staff and they will assist you in settling
into your stove-heated, spacious wall tent, home for the next
seven days.
Your next stop is the cook tent where you will
be treated to a home-cooked meal that really sticks to your
ribs.
After your meal you will have an opportunity to
meet with your guide and discuss your aspirations for the hunt,
as well as take in some of the surrounding sights and views.
Each morning you start your morning with a hearty
breakfast before you begin your hunting adventure on horseback
with a personal guide leading you to some of the best hunting
in the area.
You close each day with a wonderful dinner prepared
by our camp cook and time spent standing around the campfire
discussing the tall tales of the days hunt.
Your only worries in camp will be deciding what
size buck or bull you hope to harvest, as our staff will handle
every detail from field dressing and capping your animal to
delivering the meat to a local processor. Not to mention the
care and saddling of your horse each day.
You will be treated to a seven day adventure,
where you will hopefully not leave with just a trophy deer or
elk, but a memory of good times shared with good friends in
a place that is very special to all who visit it.
