A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR OUTFITTER AND GUIDES

OUTFITTER/GUIDE
I grew up in Wyoming and have spent much of my life pursuing big
game and trophy game animals in this wonderful state, as well
as much of North America and Canada. I still get that deep down
excited feeling when I see a big mule deer or bull elk and love
to share that experience with others.
I have raised my three boys, AJ, Christian and Landen to appreciate
this great resource that we have been given by God and to endure
to help protect and preserve it. My great hope in life is to pass
on the heritage of this business to my children so that they can
continue the traditions and experiences we live for.
I have also learned that a hunt is more than harvesting an animal
it's the total experience that counts. Here at Bear Basin Outfitters,
we know that your time in Wyoming is your chance to unwind and
enjoy all that a hunt can offer. From the moment you contact our
friendly staff you will find there is a difference in our service.
I've been on good hunts and not so good hunts before I got into
this business and have molded our operation into a hunt that I
would want to go on that is a good value for your dollar.
What you can expect is top notch service, comfortable accommodations,
great food, excellent guides and memories that will last a lifetime.
We hope that you will choose to hunt with us and we look forward
to meeting a new friend.
Respectfully

Having chosen the United States Army as my career, I spent a large
portion of my life traveling the world and being stationed in
areas like Alaska. While doing so, I took the opportunity to hunt
as often as I could, having a deep love for the sport of hunting.
After retiring from the miltary I chose to make Wyoming my home,
where much of my family resides. I simply love all that Wyoming
has to offer!
We at Bear Basin Outfitters value our customers, who we like to
refer to as our "friends", and look forward to getting
to know you on a personal level.
Remember we give discounts to our Veterans and appreciate their
sacrifices.
Sincerely
Paul Smith

Born and raised in big wonderful Wyoming and spent as much of
my life on horseback pursuing monster bucks and giant bulls as
my wife would allow. The area where we hunt is rich with game
and some of the prettiest country you will ever lay your eyes
on. We work hard for you and I am sure you will find your stay
with us a good time. It's about making memories and sharing with
good friends. Come and join us this year and find out for yourself.

I hail from Utah (Don’t hold that against me) but have lived in Wyoming for several years now. I was drawn to Wyoming knowing that it had some of the best hunting this Country has to offer. After moving here, I learned it was true, there are tremendous hunting opportunities here and Bear Basin Outfitters camp is in the heart of some great hunting for elk, deer, moose, bear and sheep. The camp is in the famous Hoback Canyon area that turns out trophy quality game on a regular basis. My true passion is archery hunting and love that sound of a bugling bull at 20 yards! I look forward to meeting you in camp.

I was born and raised in Jackson and have spent much of my life
in the
heart of Bear Basin Outfitter's hunting areas. Hunting is a passion
of
mine that I pursue with every opportunity. The herds you will
be hunting
have sustained my family through the winters for nearly 100 years.
I
especially enjoy hunting trophy antelope, elk hunting, and waterfowl
hunting. Your outfitter, Todd Smith, is one of my best friends
and has
been one of my primary hunting partners for over a decade. You
will find
that he is 100% dedicated to providing you the experience of a
lifetime in
one of the most beautiful settings on Earth. I look forward to
meeting you
and will do whatever it takes to make your hunt a success.

Hey hunting fans! I am a Wyoming native, having grown up in the Lander and Jackson areas of the state. I was raised on deer and elk meat and have been hunting my whole life. A lot of people plan their hunting season around their life...I like to think I plan my life around the hunting season! I can't get enough of it! Though I love finding a big buck or bull, nothing tops mountain lion hunting for me. So come on out to Wyoming and let's get to it! I look forward to meeting you all.

Born and raised in Jackson Wyoming, my dad is the outfitter and raised me in the mountains. I have been helping him with hunts since I was old enough to ride a horse. I have a number of successful big mulies on the wall and enjoy the rush and the challenge of finding a “the” big one. My dad has blessed me with the opportunity to meet new people from all over the country and share our Wyoming experience with them. I also run Hunter’s Taxidermy Shop in Alpine Wyoming and I am happy to assist you with all your big game mounting needs. See you this fall when elk are bugling!

Wyoming has always been my home, born and raised in Jackson. I am the oldest of three kids and my parents run Bear Basin Outfitters. My dad has been waking me up early since I was a kid to hunt for big deer, elk and antelope. I will never forget my first bear that my dad took me to harvest. I have made antelope hunting my specialty and finding that magical 80” buck is my goal. Spending time in the mountains is something I would not trade for anything. I hope we get the chance to meet this year and share our camp with you.

I call St. Stephens Wyoming my home, located near Riverton Wyoming in the central part of the state. I venture to Jackson each summer and fall to get my fix of guiding and taking pictures in some of the most beautiful country on earth. I have come to really enjoy my time that I get to spend with my fellow guides and hunting friends. Big mule deer is what makes my tick…and there’s always one more big one waiting to be found! Back at home I raise a herd of buffalo and earn a dollar or two as a professional photographer. Maybe I will get the chance to photograph your next trophy in Wyoming. I hope to meet you in the fall.
God Bless

I have spent most of my life in Wyoming and Arizona. I am a Ferrier most of the year, earning my living under a horse and doing my best impression of a rodeo cowboy as often as time allows. I have a love of the outdoors and anything that puts me in the saddle on a mountain trail. I enjoy hunting deer and elk and spending time with new folks that I meet while guiding. Pull your hat down tight and we will see you this fall!

WRANGLER/COOK
I hail from the great state of Texas, where I grew up raising and training horses on my father’s ranch. My enjoyment comes from taking a young horse and turning it into a horse that can be used for hunting and trail riding. Bear Basin Outfitters has great stock for hunting and packing on in the mountains. I enjoy the atmosphere at our camp and the great people that I work with. I think you will find your stay to be a very enjoyable one where adventure is behind every tree. The food isn’t half bad either.
See you in the saddle

CAMP COOK/Co-Owner
I was born and raised in Lander Wyoming, a couple of hours east of Jackson Hole. I have a great love of the outdoors and all that it has to offer. My husband is the outfitter and we strive to provide you with an experience that is second to none. When you call to book a hunt, you may get the opportunity to talk with me about your hunt and I am happy to share as much information about our hunts as you care to know. Being the camp cook, I have learned that a bad weather day can be made up for by a great hot meal! I work hard to make sure each and every meal is something that reminds you of holiday meals at home. I look forward to meeting each one of you this fall…see you in the kitchen! Sincerely
